Character assassination of Pakistan must be stopped

High Level Leadership of Pakistan on Thursday has again made it clear to US that Character assassination of Pakistan must be immediately stopped stressing Pak’s role in war on terror is in front of the entire world.

These views were expressed by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani during their separate meetings with US Deputy Secretary of State, John Negroponte who arrived here on Thursday morning.

Negroponte held discussions with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani on the relations between Pakistan and India, situation after Mumbai mayhem, Pak-US Relations, War on Terror and other issues in length.

Sources say that the meeting lasted for quite a while in which President informed US Deputy Secretary of State, John Negroponte regarding Pakistan’s gigantic measures after Mumbai Blasts.

President told US Deputy Secretary of State, John Negroponte that Pakistan itself has become a Victim of Terrorism urging no one will be allowed to use our soil for nefarious designs at any cost.

We strongly condemn Mumbai carnage adding India has not shown a positive response in our cooperation into Mumbai investigations, President said.

Pakistan is a responsible and Democratic State that is fully capable and committed to safeguarding its National Interests and fulfilling its International Obligations, President maintained.

If India provides us with Substantial Evidence, we will definitely take action against the culprits involved in Mumbai Blood shed, President underlined.

Sources further said that US Deputy Secretary of State, John Negroponte also met Prime Minister Gilani in PM’s House.

During the meeting, Prime Minister hoped that new Leadership of US would support Pakistan thick and thin.

PM reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve not to allow anybody to use its soil for terrorist activities.

We want Security and Stability in the entire South Asia, he said.

It was therefore imperative to proactively diffuse the prevailing tensions between Pakistan and India, PM told US Deputy Secretary of State, John Negroponte.

He said that all the Political Parties are united for the sake of National Security of the Country.

US drone attacks are a serious and major concern in Pakistan, he held.

Sources said that US Deputy Secretary of State, John Negroponte lauded role of Pakistan after Mumbai carnage.

Pakistan has played a Sensible and Responsible role in the aftermath of Mumbai incident, which has been appreciated by All, US Deputy Secretary of State, John Negroponte said.

Sources further say that US Deputy Secretary of State, John Negroponte hoped that Pakistan would continue its efforts to diffuse tension with India while highly acclaimed its role in war against Terror.
